the virtual home for the Santa Barbara, CA Muslim community

Interfaith

The Islamic Society of Santa Barbara is proud and grateful to be an active part of the Santa Barbara community. We engage in various outreach programs and are dedicated to building strong ties of friendship with all the people of Santa Barbara.

We are avid contributors to the Interfaith Initiative of Santa Barbara County, a group dedicated to fostering mutual understanding and appreciation among all faith communities. We have worked several times with our local chapter of Habitat for Humanity on special interfaith workdays, and some of our members conduct biweekly Torah/Qur’an study groups with members of Congregation B’nai B’rith. Most recently, our imam, Yama Niazi, was invited to give a special address at the 2010 Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service conducted at First United Methodist Church.

ISSB welcomes anyone and everyone to visit our place of worship and join us at our congregational prayers and other social events. Please contact us if you would like more information about these gatherings.
